Obituary for Gladson Cutshall

Mr. Gladson Cutshall, 93, of 1525 Mill Creek Road departed this life and was promoted to his heavenly home on February 24, 2017. He had resided at Madison Health and Rehabilitation Center for the past four and a half years.

A native and lifelong resident of Madison County, he was the son of the late Stokely and Mable Cutshall. He was a faithful member of Carmen Church of God.

Gladson proudly served his country in the 14th Armored Division during the 2nd World War. Mr. Cutshall loved his family and friends. He was an old fashioned neighbor and friend in the community.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters: Essie Shelton, Hazel Shelton and Dessie Payne; four brothers: Fransco, Sandford, Grover and Carves Cutshall. He is survived by nine nieces, seven nephews and many special friends at Carmen Church of God.

The funeral service will be held at the Carmen Church of God at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2017. Pastor Eric Young and Reverend Jim Metcalf will officiate. Interment will follow in the Cutshall Cemetery with pallbearers being special friends from the Carmen Church of God. Military graveside funeral rites will be conducted by the North Carolina National Guard.

The family will receive friends at Madison Funeral Home from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 27, 2017.
