Obituary for Deion Pierce Douglas

Deion Pierce Douglas, 5, of 64 Rigsby Road, Marshall, went home to heaven on September 5, 2017 while surrounded by family.
Deion was born June 4, 2012. His personality was all about sharing love with others and his love touched everyone who came around him.
Throughout the summer, family, friends and everyone in our community came together to raise money for a treatment for his cancer that was only available in Mexico. There was an amazing outpour of generosity from everyone in the community and beyond, all of which was a true tribute to the love we all shared for Deion. The family would like to thank each and every one for the love and care they shared.
Throughout the harshness and pain that Deion had endured from the treatments, he always did it without complaint. Although Deion never got the opportunity to play sports, he was a true champion in how he battled this deadly cancer. DIPG.DEIONSTRONG!!! will always be remembered in the hearts of those who participated in the fight with him.
Deion is survived by his loving parents, Amber Kimery and Clinton Douglas III; paternal grandparents, Clinton Douglas II (Pop Pop) and Tariin Douglas (Nana); maternal grandparents, Darrell Rigsby (Pap) and Myrna Rigsby (Nana); uncle, Kenny Kimery; aunts, Kimber Wilds and Nicole Douglas; and his first cousins (Deion’s special friends), Mason Cizdziel, Rayne Douglas, Jayona and Nylah Paylor.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 8, 2017 in the chapel of Madison Funeral Services with Pastor Nicolas Coates officiating. Interment will follow at Station Cemetery.
Those who will be attending the interment are encouraged to bring along small stones of any sort. Deion’s favorite hobby was collecting stones. Whether they were from a gem mine, rock tumbler or out of the driveway, they were all treasures to him and any stones brought will be placed with him as he is laid to rest.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m. Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.
