Obituary for Clarence Eugene Payne

Clarence Eugene Payne, 81, of Weaverville, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 8, 2017 at the Brian Center.
Mr. Payne was born April 25, 1936 in Madison County and was a resident of Buncombe County. He was the son of the late Fessie and Flota Bailey Payne. He worked 28 years at Biltmore Dairy Farms and 24 years at Thermo Fisher where he retired. He loved to farm and raise cattle.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Arthur Payne; half-brothers, Burlon and Richmond Payne; sisters, Valeria Shelton and Maude Payne; and half-sister, Leath Bradburn.
He is survived by his loving wife, Joan Payne of the home; sons, Gary Payne of Penrose and Terry Payne of Mars Hill; daughter, Pam Rogers (Derrick) of Weaverville; brothers, Norman Payne (Bernice) and Evin Payne (Elsie); sisters, Faye Meadows and Barbara Morton; grandchildren, Matthew Payne, Rena Payne and Savannah Payne; great grandchildren, Jacob and Waylon West; as well as several nieces and nephews
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Madison Funeral Services with Reverend Roger Massey officiating. Interment will follow at Bowman Rector Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at the funeral home.
