Obituary for Bud Searcy

'Bud' Willie Frank Searcy, 82, of Marshall, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017.

Bud was born in Madison County on May 16, 1934 to his late parents Will and Mollie Treadway Searcy and lived there all of his life. He was a life time member of the Plot Association and a retiree from the NCDOT where he worked in the Bridge Department. Bud was a member of Davis Chapel Baptist Church. Besides his family, his true love was dogs and bear hunting.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters: Lockie, Ann, Mill, and Oay all of Ohio, Hazel of Virginia; infant sister Frances; brothers, Bob of Ohio and Marvin of Marshall; five nephews.

He is survived by his sister, Mary Rice of Marshall; nephews: Steve Rice of Marshall, Elmer Farmer, Jimmy Farmer and Bill Searcy of Ohio, David Franklin of Arizona, Michael Cox of Virginia; nieces: Nancy Honeycutt (Clifton) of Mars Hill, Ann Gregory, Jane Ashe, Becky Headrick, Laura Klinect of Ohio; several great nieces and nephews, cousins, and special friends.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 17, 2017 in the Chapel of Madison Funeral Services with Reverends Bud Marlor, Brian Shetley, and Matthew Honeycutt officiating. Burial will follow in the Station Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 5- 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
