Obituary for Anna Lee Lewis

Anna Lee Buckner Lewis, 96, of Asheville, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 23, 2017.
Anna was born in Madison County on September 6, 1920 to her late parents, Eddie and Mary Elizabeth Bullman Buckner. She was a homemaker and member of Big Laurel Baptist Church, but attended Oak Ridge Baptist Church in her later years. She was a wonderful mother and loving “Nana”.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Lewis; son, Talmadge; daughter, Wanda Roberts; granddaughter, Tara Flynn Rice; sisters: Atlas, Robena, Verna Mae and Belzie; and brother, Foch.
She is survived by her daughters: Blanche Flynn (Gene), Joyce Fisher, Shirley Bullman (Jr.), Kathy DeBruhl, and Carolyn Bullman (Monty); sons: Ken Lewis (Pat), Ed Lewis (Bonnie) and Ted Lewis (Gloria); daughter in-law, Maxine Lewis Lyons; son in-law, Bobby Roberts; 25 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 27, 2017, in the Chapel of Madison Funeral Services with Pastor Larry Sprouse officiating. Interment will follow at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff of the J. F. Keever Solace Center for the wonderful care given to Mrs. Lewis.
