CANDLER – Floyd Thomas, 81, of Candler, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 17th, 2010.
Mr. Thomas was born Sept. 12, 1928 in Madison County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Josie Roberts Thomas, wife, Arizona Cantrell Thomas; son, Charlie Tweed, sisters, Ellen Henderson and Bertha Swafford; brother, Delano Thomas and great grandson, Cameron Martin.
Surviving are his daughters, Marie Martin and husband, Grady of Marshall and Martha Ann Hayden and husband, Bill of Pittsburg, Kan.; son, Floyd Ray Thomas of Marshall; grandchildren, Connie Tweed and Cathy Ledford, Michael, Terry and Matthew Martin, Adam Hayden and Sunnye Harding; great grandchildren, Caleb, Keeton, and Kirsten Griffin, Jillian Ledford, Amber and Heather Martin, Christian and Taylor Martin, Lena Avery, Sarah Hesser; Allie Zerger, Brooke Garrett, Cooper, Cole and Cale Hayden; and several nieces and nephews; sisters, Harriet Thomas, Lillie Mae Lovin, Mable Pace and Martha Littrell and a brother, Dillard Thomas.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday in the Chapel of Madison Funeral Home with the Reverend Cliff Baker officiating. Interment will follow in the Gahagan Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
