MARSHALL – Thelma Payne Price Freeman, 97, of Marshall passed away on Friday, January 29th, 2010.
Mrs. Freeman was a native of Madison County where she had lived for most of her life. She was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, John Robert and Emily Riddle Payne; her first husband, Hubert Price, Sr, who died Oct. 3, 1936; her second husband, John Freeman was a Retired Master Sergeant of the U. S. Army, he died on May 25, 1975. Also preceding her in death was an infant child, and her sisters and brothers, Zora, James Ezra, Iowa, Maybel, Mally Wade, Daisy, Edna, Hayes and John Ray.
Surviving are her sons, Hubert Price, Jr. and wife, Vera of Detroit, Mich., and Albert A. Freeman and wife, Velda of Asheville; three grandchildren, Pamela Freeman Caldwell, Donna Lengyel and Dennis Hubert Price; seven great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday in the Chapel of Madison Funeral Home with the Reverend Bob Moon officiating. Interment will follow in the Freeman Gap Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Flowers are acceptable or memorials may be made to the Freeman Gap Cemetery Trust Fund or Payne’s Chapel Church.
