MARSHALL - Ruby M. Brown, 94, of Marshall, died Tuesday, January 12th, 2010.
Ruby was born December 8, 1915 in Madison County where she lived and worked her entire life. She was a 40 year employee of the National 5 & 10 cent store in Marshall, retiring in 1980 at the closing of the store. Ruby was well known in the community of Marshall. Mommie is now at peace in the arms of her Savior. She will be dearly missed by her family, she was a wonderful "Mommie" to them. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, William and Bertha Barnes Marlor; her husband, Garland W. Brown; sisters, Myrtle Marlor, Moselle Dodgen and Robbie Beaumont and brother, Clyde Marlor.
Ruby is survived by her daughter Patricia Jo Blackwell and husband, Richard; grandchildren, Karen Bell (Kim), Rick Blackwell (Verna) , great-grand children, Patrick (Stephanie), Jamey, Michael and Zachary Bell, Brittney and Nicky Blackwell, great great grandchildren, Olivia, Haley and Kaylin Bell, sisters, Georgia Williamson and Katherine Lunsford and numerous other kindred whom she loved.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday in the chapel of the Madison Funeral Home with the Reverends Johnny “Bud” Marlor and Manson Warren officiating.
Interment will follow in the Bowman-Rector Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Rick Blackwell, Roy Young, Jamey Bell, Michael Bell, Zachary Bell and Kim Bell.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
