At that time she was contacted by a member of the Madison County Public School System and was asked to serve as a teacher’s assistant at Walnut Elementary School where she assisted in instructing the Kindergarten-First Grade classes for 12 years. During her break she attended A-B Tech where she studied Business and Computers. In January, 1988 she accepted the position as administrative assistant for West Funeral Home where she was employed until her retirement in January 2007. She began her employment with Madison Funeral Home in May, 2007, and feels so privileged to be able to work with and serve the people in her home county.
The things most precious to Barbara Sue are her relationship with Jesus Christ, and the time spent with her family; husband, Ernest, her sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Amanda Goldsmith and Mark and Stacie Goldsmith and the delights of her life, her five granddaughters, Krystal, Kayla, Lauren, Taylor & Trinity, her brother and sister-in-law, C.W. and Sherry Anthony and her church family and friends.
